During thesis I worked on finishing up an essay for a scholarship application, and sent it to two teacher for comments.

During Independent Study I spent time discussing with my partner Krista about our approach when speaking with possible mentors. We came up with some strategies about how to speak with theatre companies, and what we want to say. I also talked with Mr.Villa and received an SAT waiver and tried to sign up for my SAT, but the connection wasn't working properly so I wasn't able to do that during class.

August 29, 202

Today I spent my thesis period filling out my Senior Survey. I also spent some time talking with my Co-director about some of our plans. I continued my college search and started comparing some colleges that I am thinking of applying to. I tried to work on one of my scholarship applications, but ran out of time. I hope to be able to narrow down my my top choices for colleges to just 8, and be able to rank them next period.

Thesis planning

Trying to choose a topic for my thesis was very difficult. I knew I wanted to do something fun, challenging, and out of the science field. I have always loved theater, especially the production side of it. The costumes, stage, makeup, lighting, everything always seemed to me to be almost as important, if not mire important, than the actors. The stage is was sets the tone for the play. If you do not have the right atmosphere that you can not have the right mood to properly convey the story. This lead me to choosing my thesis topic to be theater. But not all of it. I have partnered with a friend to put on a production of Alice in Wonderland. She will taking on the challenge of casting, and directing the actors, while I am going to be taking on the stage. I will be planning out the layout, creating set pieces, props, costumes, and anything else that is needed for the production. We decided to do Alice in Wonderland because it is one of our favorite stories, and one that we believe will give us the creative freedom that we want. My partner is very excited to be able to make the actors be over the top and whimsical, while i'm very excited to be able to create amazing set pieces that jump out into the audience and make them believe that they are traveling right along side Alice into a magical world. We have begun to plan out how we want the show to go, and are in the middle of scheduling meetings with potential mentors. We are both very excited and nervous to start our journey to Wonderland.
